I am chair and professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and full time faculty member at the Beckman Institute. I also have zero-time appointments in the Psychology and the ISE Departments.

Xue is a fourth-year undergraduate student working towards a dual degree in Cognitive Psychology and Applied Learning Science with a minor in Informatics. Her research interests span a broad range of topics focusing largely on user experience, virtual reality, and multilingual processing. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she plans to attend graduate school for her Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction. She aspires to become a UX designer and researcher upon graduation.

PhD Student in Educational Psychology (Cognitive Sciences of Teaching & Learning Division). He holds a M.Sc. in Applied Statistics (UIUC), a M.Sc. in Accounting Education & Research from University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), B.S. in Information Systems and B.S. in Accounting. At UIUC he serves as Research Assistant at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and as Teaching Assistant (EPSY 456 - Human Performance and Cognition in Context). He has further interest in investigating relationships among professional expertise, cognition, decision-making, risk perception, and workload in complex task domains such as accounting and behavioral economics.

Holiday (Shuyuan) Tang is an undergraduate student pursuing a double-major degree in Psychology and Statistics. As a zealot of Statistics, Machine Learning and Computational Neuroscience, Tang aspires to be a future data scientist and computational neuroscientist. To ready himself for the further pursuit of his passions, Tang is actively participating in Human Factors Lab to refine his skills in researching, data processing, statistical analysis, and analytical thinking.
